For a leading consumer law firm located in the United States, we built complex reporting solution covering these data sources:

  1. Google Ads – keyword level data
  2. Bing Ads – keyword level data
  3. Facebook Ads – ad sets
  4. CallRail data – both calls and forms
  5. Internal CRM

By combining all the data sources, we built an automated reporting solution which refreshes daily. The data is stored in Big Query and visualized in Microsoft Power BI.

The firm’s staff now gets daily morning reports about advertising spend, estimated ROI, settlemetns, intake activity and various ad hoc reports about current marketing campaigns.

We also managed to start uploading only “good conversions” to Google Ads and to Microsoft Bing Ads after the in-house team reviews the leads and sets appropriate lead statuses. Unlike before, when we were recording all leads (all calls + all forms submissions), we can now use automated bidding solutions from Google & Bing in order to target only “good leads” or in other words – potentially good conversions.

For specific Google Ads campaigns where we cannot use automated bidding based on conversion, we have built a custom bidding solution by combing Big Query, Google Sheets and Adwords Scripts.

We have also implemented spend predictions for the current month based on the recent trending.

Reporting automation led to data democratization, increased intake efficiency; improvements of marketing spend allocation; and overall peace of mind of the managing partner.

Nationwide Real Estate Agent in the US

We have built a reporting solution for nationwide real estate agency in the Unites States.

The setup is featuring data from Google Ads and Bing Ads. The main challenge was the sheer size of the advertising accounts – we are talking about millions of keywords and thousands of campaigns generating impressions every day. 

We also focused on ability to report based on the location of the customers all the way down to specific zip codes and cities. Another challenge was also need to report based on keyword templates and ads (such as “buy houses in XYZ”) across the entire account.

Similarly as with all our projects, we have also implemented spend predictions for the current month based on the recent trending.

As part of the project, we have also implemented PPC campaign automation  features:

  1. Custom bidding solution which allocates bids and budgets to campaigns grouped based on various criteria in order to hit target monthly spend for each group of campaigns
  2. Various checks for missing keywords, ad groups, ads with automated fixes in case errors are found.
  3. Checks for mistriggering search terms (brand in generic campaigns and vice versa)
  4. Automated pausing and activations of keywords based on the available numbers of properties behind the keywords. As part of this exercise, we also had to built a custom python web crawler which now crawls around 90k pages per day. 

To date, the project has generated more than a billion of rows and we have been querying around 4 TB of data per month while running the automation features while the core infrastructure costs float only around $50-60 per month.

Home Health Care Provider in New York

The main challenge of this project was to aggregate data from various data sources: Google Ads, Bing Ads, CRM, and CallRail.

After the solution was deployed, the client finally sees which keywords drive the leads and on the top of that, the client also knows which keywords drive good leads after the leads are updated in the CRM system and matched back to original click.

Cancer Prostate Center in Florida

This project is featuring our usual setup – we have data coming from Google Ads, Bing Ads, a simple CRM system in Google Sheets, and CallRail.

We are able to link good leads with clicks so client’s activities can focus on getting more traffic from the good keywords.

Oh, forgot to mention…we built the CRM system in Google Sheets as well by pulling the data from CallRail into Google Sheets 🙂
